Impeller pump: Characteristics of the unit
The lamella self priming pump is an apparatus designed for pumping highly viscous liquids containing coarse solids.
The principle of operation of the impeller pump is based on the flexible impeller’s ability to deform, so that the liquid is self-priming. Casing is made of cold rolled stainless steel AISI 304, impeller is made of elastomers, which properties may vary. The choice of material depends on the requirements of the element:
Natural rubber (NR) is resistant to abrasion, perfectly pumps aqueous solutions;Chloroprene rubber (CR) is resistant to chemical and mechanical stresses;Butadiene Nitrile Rubber (NBR) is optimal for conveying oil and fatty goods;Ethylene-Propylene Rubber (EPDM) is insensitive to acids and alkalis, as well as high ambient temperatures.
These models are versatile as they combine the properties of centrifugal pumps (head and transfer performance) and peristaltic pumps.
